Microsoft Canada invites you to help solve some of the biggest challenges in the world today with something you create that is open-source and runs on Azure. We want you to be ambitious, imaginative, great.
The venue is a hackathon, all online. We’ve identified four industry challenges in Canada. In one way or another, these challenges arise from or have been made all the more urgent by Covid-19 and our reactions to it. Solving these challenges calls for imagination but also for the limitless collaboration of open source and the ubiquity of a modern, open cloud like Azure.
The challenges detailed below are meant to provide a focus, not a limit. Want to hack on another challenge? Go ahead. Or dive further into one of the categories below. All we ask is that what you make will be open source and seriously great.
Solve one of the four industries challenges
The Hackathon
The core of this challenge is the 7-day hackathon starting on September 21st during which you will work on the projects your team has chosen. In four different industries, we put together several scenarios to inspire you. Solve one of them or hack another challenge of your choice.
During the 7 days, you will be supported by our expert mentors. We also encourage you to check out the resources tab for more useful tools and inspiration.
We will invite the 10 best teams to present their ideas to our industry leaders on September 30th during a virtual live event.
